THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
In a hurting and broken world our goal is to share the message of hope found in Jesus with the youth in our community. Each night we are open a staff member, or an adult or youth volunteer leads a devotional and discussion. Devotionals are based on the Bible and focus on the message of Jesus Christ. We want young people to know that Jesus died for them so that they may be forgiven and have new life. We have seen many young people come to know and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior at the ROC. We also provide Bibles to youth that want them.
FOOD
We are blessed to provide youth with a free meal each night we are open! Many youth that we serve come from struggling home lives where money is tight. The meal we provide to the youth helps ease that burden just a bit. Through generous donations we are able to provide this service.
GAMES AND ACTIVITIES
We offer a wide variety of games and activities for youth to participate in while at the ROC. We have a small basketball court, pool tables, air hockey table, video games, and more available on a nightly basis for youth to utilize. We also do a variety of group games and activities that gets the youth up and moving and helps us get to know them better.
LOCK-INS AND OTHER EVENTS
Multiple times a year we host all-night lock-ins for youth. The night is filled with activities, free food, games, and more. Each Lock-In we hold a worship service with live worship music, and a message given by a staff member, youth or adult volunteer, or guest speaker. We also hold optional breakout sessions where youth have an opportunity to talk. These have been times of break through and transformation for many. Lock-Ins are some of our most anticipated events by our youth. In addition we also do a variety of events throughout the year such as cookouts at the park, various service projects, and the Love is Red youth conference in Canton.
PROGRAMS
An overview of the services we provide at the ROC
A SAFE ENVIRONMENT
One of the first things we provide for our youth is a safe place to spend their time. Our world is ever changing and with it increases the dangers and struggles our youth face. There are many ways that youth can spend their time and often many of those choices are activities that lead to bad consequences. The ROC strives to be a place that youth can spend their time wisely and safely, away from the temptations and peer pressures they face. We are located in the heart of Salem within walking distance for most of our youth.
ENCOURAGEMENT
The struggles our youth face today are numerous and great. We live in a day where our young people are suffering from anxiety, depression, bullying, thoughts of suicide and so much more. Our staff and leaders at the ROC strive to be a positive influence and a voice of encouragement in every youth's life that walks through our door. We are there to listen and care for them.
